The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced on Saturday a record $20 million purse for this week's US Open at The Los Angeles Country Club. This marks a significant increase from the previous record of $17.5 million set in 2021.
The winner of the 2023 US Open will receive a record $4 million, up from $3.15 million last year. The runner-up will earn $2.25 million, and the third-place finisher will receive $1.5 million. All players who make the cut will earn a minimum of $30,000.
The record purse reflects the growing popularity of the US Open and the commitment of the USGA to providing a fair and competitive playing field for the world's best golfers.
The 2023 US Open will be held from June 15-18 at The Los Angeles Country Club in Los Angeles, California. The tournament will be contested by 156 players, including the world's top-ranked golfers.
