Government Rewards Workers With Record Tax Cut
The Chancellor of the Exchequer presented his Spring Budget to Parliament on Wednesday 6 March 2024. In addition to announcing the government's plans to protect real levels of funding for the NHS, he also unveiled a record tax cut for 29 million workers.
Extension of Energy Price Guarantee
The government has extended the Energy Price Guarantee, which was due to end in March 2024, by six months to September 2024. The OBR forecasts that the economy will grow by 1.4% in 2024 and 2% in 2025. The government has also introduced new measures to support businesses and households during the cost of living crisis.
