US-Russia Spy Swap Discussed
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - CIA Director William Burns met with his Russian counterpart in Turkey on Monday and warned that Russia against using nuclear weapons.
Burns also expressed concern that Ukraine could lose the war against Russia without more military support from the United States, according to a report in the New York Times.
The CIA director acknowledged Thursday that without military assistance from the US, Ukraine could experience significant setbacks.
During the meeting, Burns and Russian Foreign Intelligence Service chief Sergei Naryshkin also discussed a possible prisoner swap, according to the report.
The CIA has been a key player in providing intelligence to Ukraine since the Russian invasion began in February.
