Burnley Winger Wilson Odobert Joins Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Burnley winger Wilson Odobert on a five-year deal.
The 23-year-old joins Spurs for an undisclosed fee, and has been handed the number 38 shirt.
Odobert Expresses Delight at Joining Tottenham
Odobert expressed his delight at joining Tottenham, saying: "I'm so happy to be here. Tottenham is a big club with a great history and I'm excited to be part of it."
"I want to help the team achieve success and I'm looking forward to playing in front of the fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium."
Odobert's Career at Burnley
Odobert joined Burnley from Exeter City in 2021, and made 58 appearances for the Clarets, scoring six goals.
He was part of the Burnley side that was relegated from the Premier League in 2022, but played a key role in their promotion back to the top flight as champions of the Championship in 2022-23.
Odobert's Playing Style
Odobert is a pacey and direct winger who is known for his dribbling skills and ability to create chances for his teammates.
He is also a good finisher, as evidenced by his six goals for Burnley last season.
What Odobert Brings to Tottenham
Odobert's arrival at Tottenham will provide manager Antonio Conte with another attacking option.
He can play on either flank and is expected to compete with Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski for a starting spot.
Tottenham's Transfer Window
Tottenham have been active in the transfer market this summer, having already signed Richarlison from Everton and Yves Bissouma from Brighton.
The signing of Odobert is another indication of Tottenham's ambition to challenge for major trophies this season.
