Wide Receiver Donaven McCulley's Injury Update

James Madison University football head coach Curt Cignetti provided an injury update on star wide receiver Donaven McCulley during media availability on May 5, 2023.
McCulley, a redshirt senior from Kernersville, North Carolina, suffered an undisclosed injury during spring practice.
Cignetti's Comments
Regarding McCulley's status, Cignetti had this to say:
- "Donaven's getting close to being back full-go. We'll just play it day-to-day with him," Cignetti said. "He's getting close, and we hope to have him ready for the start of training camp."
- Training camp for the Dukes is scheduled to begin on August 2, 2023.
- "He's a great player, and we're excited to have him back," Cignetti added. "We just want to make sure he's 100% healthy before we put him back out there."
McCulley, who has been a key contributor for the Dukes throughout his career, will look to make an impact for JMU in 2023 when the team opens its season on August 31 at home against Middle Tennessee.
