Armed Suspect Robs Bank, Escapes with Undisclosed Amount of Money

On the morning of May 10, 2023, an armed suspect robbed the Morgan City Bank located at 123 Main Street in Morgan City, Louisiana.

According to witnesses, the suspect entered the bank around 9:00 AM wearing a black mask and brandishing a handgun. The suspect demanded money from the tellers, who complied. The suspect then fled the scene in a white pickup truck.

The Morgan City Police Department is currently investigating the robbery. No arrests have been made at this time. The FBI is assisting with the investigation.

The robbery has left the community shaken. "This is a very close-knit community, and something like this is very upsetting," said Mayor Tim Matte. "We are working with the police to do everything we can to catch the person responsible and bring him to justice."

The Morgan City Bank is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
