Following the Red Sox's 5-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers, manager Alex Cora expressed optimism about his team's performance.

Cora commended the team's resilience, stating, "We got off to a slow start, but we kept fighting and found a way to win."

Cora highlighted the solid pitching performance from starter Michael Wacha, who allowed only one run over six innings.

The bullpen also contributed, with Ryan Brasier, John Schreiber, and Matt Barnes combining for three scoreless innings.

The Red Sox offense produced enough runs to support Wacha's effort.

Rafael Devers and Trevor Story each drove in two runs, while J.D. Martinez added one RBI.

Cora singled out Devers' performance, stating, "He's been swinging the bat well and making things happen."

Devers went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and a walk.

With the win, the Red Sox improved to 7-10 on the season.

They will face the Tigers again on Saturday, with Nick Pivetta scheduled to start for Boston.
